FMM is seeking a motivated professional to fulfill our General Repair Technician position. FMM is a maintenance and construction company servicing both residential and commercial clients nationwide.
Job Summary: The General Repair Technician will be responsible for working with a General Repair Team to complete a variety of restoration and modification projects of all sizes for residential and commercial clients.
Essential Job Duties (Included but not limited to)
  • Work alongside a team conducting investigative demolition to identify and locate the extent of damage to a buildings structural components.
  • Conduct minor and major framing repairs to restore structural integrity in compromised buildings.
  • Replace finishes removed in pursuit of investigative process or repairs, including but not limited to cabinetry, drywall, and trim.
  • Perform all repairs in accordance with local codes, engineering plans, and/or best practice.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment throughout the course of projects.
  • Prepare progress reports of work completed as necessary or as requested by Site Supervisor or Project Manager.
  • Coordinate with Site Supervisor to ensure all materials needs are satisfied as they arise.
  • Be familiar with and conform to all written operating procedures associated with the site.
  • Attend periodic training seminars.

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Rough Carpentry replace sheathing, decking, studs, bottom/top plates, headers, sills, joists, rafters, etc.
  • Finish Carpentry install crown molding, baseboards, window/door trim, wainscotting, etc.
  • Basic Electrical trace circuits to shut off power in work area, disconnect/reconnect receptacles & light fixtures
  • Drywall replace sheet rock on walls; tape, and float/finish texture a plus.
  • Doors & Windows build door cases, detach/reset doors and windows, replace hardware, etc.
  • Building Envelope install house wrap, flashing, siding, soffit, etc.
  • Painting paint walls, ceilings, doors, trim, etc.
  • Materials knowledge with common materials used in the construction and repair of residential and commercial buildings.
  • Practices familiarity with safety procedures on construction sites and common structural repair practices.
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to think ahead to the next phase of work to be done.
  • Time Management
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma
  • Four (4) years previous experience
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions using FMM's core values of Quality, Teamwork, Integrity, Safety, and Versatility
  • Proficient in computer, text, and email skills
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
  • Ability to pass a Fit for Duty Screening
  • Must have a valid driver's license
