Position Summary

We currently have an opening for aProduction Technician. In this role, you will troubleshoot, analyze, repair, and co-develop manufacturing test and automation systems. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, test and automation engineering teams to support the tools, equipment and processes needed to sustain production of electro-mechanical assemblies.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Provides technical assistance to Production Assembly Leads and Associates related to all production cell equipment, fixtures, and test systems.
  • Acts as a real-time support function to triage, troubleshoot, and repair of production test systems
  • Build, deploy, and validate production test systems from various documentation, instructions, schematics, drawings, diagrams, layouts and plans.
  • Provides technical assistance to Product Development Engineering team for all related prototyping and testing
  • Provide process improvement contributions related to test development, deployment, and management.
  • Provides design detail where lacking and recommends modifications where appropriate.
  • Performs routine calibration and maintenance on instruments, systems and electronic circuits
  • Provide production operations fixture and tooling design support for both NPI and sustaining product applications
  • Provide design verification test (DVT) and related product performance test support (to include environmental exposure)
  • Support production operations equipment preventative maintenance, upgrade, repair and troubleshooting as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualification Essential:

  • Competency for analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Knowledgeable of computer hardware and Windows applications, and ability to support application installations and device drivers to ensure function of hardware peripherals.
  • Familiarity with analog and digital electronics and associated low voltage systems and communication protocols.
  • Adept at using electronic instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multi-meters, power supplies, audio analyzers, and vision systems.
  • Understands electrical schematics and correlates how to troubleshoot and repair circuit boards.
  • Ability to build and repair low voltage cable and connector assemblies, including associated soldering and crimping activities.
  • Ability to design, build/fabricate, and validate production fixtures, tooling, and related support equipment.
  • Ability to support and execute product performance testing to include test planning, procedure development, test conduct, report development; data analyses support as required.
  • Ability to define and execute preventative maintenance requirements in support of production operations equipment.
  • Capable of communicating on a technical level with engineers when issues need to be escalated for additional support.
  • Able to conceive, evaluate and implement design changes to instruments, circuits or processes.
  • Capacity to multitask and support various projects differing in scope and complexity.
  • Proficient with MS Office programs such as Excel and Word.
  • Ability to develop and troubleshoot test software such as LabVIEW, Visual Basic, or related.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements


  • AA degree in electronics or equivalent work experience, minimum 6 years.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
