Manufacturing Technician - 3rd Shift

We're excited to offer a MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN opportunity at our North Kingstown, RI facility, where we manufacture high-purity chemicals and solvents as part of the semiconductor industry supply chain. In this role, you'll support our 3rd shift operations, ensuring products are processed and packaged safety and efficiently to meet production goals. Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust chemical manufacturing equipment to ensure safe and efficient production.
  • Handle and measure raw materials according to specified formulations, follow strict safety and quality guidelines.
  • Collect samples for QC lab analysis.
  • Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Accurately process production data transactions in ERP system (SAP).
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hazardous material handling procedures.
  • Perform equipment cleaning.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, safety programs, and required training to enhance operational knowledge and compliance.
  • Adhere to 5S practices to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Entry-level position - no prior experience required. However, candidates with experience in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment are preferred and may be considered for higher-level roles.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to perform measurements, conversions, and simple calculations related to production processes.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, SOPs, and safety guidelines in English.
  • Communication skills to document production activities, report issues, and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting. Experience with SAP strongly preferred.
  • Fork truck driving experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.  
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a full or half-face respirator, as necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously for extended periods. 
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of materials and equipment, typically 5-20 lbs.
  • Use of hand trucks, drum dollies, or other material-handling equipment to move heavy drums of material or equipment. 
  • Manual dexterity to operate equipment, handle materials, and perform precise tasks.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching as required for equipment operation and maintenance. 
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed in a manufacturing setting.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity to monitor equipment, read documentation, and ensure safety compliance. 
  • Ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, safety glasses, respirators, and chemical-resistant uniform, as required. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to:
    • Chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles (with proper PPE provided).
    • Noise levels requiring hearing protection in designated areas.
  • Work may involve operating near moving machinery and heavy equipment.
  • Shift work, including nights, weekends, and overtime, may be required based on production needs.

Candidates are selected based on their qualifications, experience, and skill proficiency. Depending on their skillset and level of expertise, successful applicants may be hired at a I, II, or Sr. level Manufacturing Technician. The responsibilities and expectations will align with the corresponding level of the position.
