Job description

Job Overview:
APTIM Environmental & Infrastructure, LLC is seeking an entry level Environmental Scientist on a full-time basis to participate in a variety of environmental compliance tasks in support of our RCRA and state hazardous waste, non-RCRA waste, regulated waste and hazardous materials management programs. The successful candidate will have a background in waste profile development and quality assurance/quality control review of waste profiles, waste determinations, and Safety Data Sheets. The candidate will also have excellent communication skills to facilitate client interaction, supplier interaction, and to provide direction to junior level staff. This position will primarily be in an office environment but may also require travel to client facilities conduct environmental compliance reviews/audits and/or gather related data.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Executing and managing various work scopes, while meeting project schedules and budgets.
  • Work independently and as part of a project team and be able to adjust to changing conditions.
  • Interfacing with client personnel at a corporate and facility level.
  • Communications with regulatory agencies.
  • Time management to ensure a quality product is prepared to meet project deadlines.
  • Applies knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.
  • Following defined processes explicitly while also being able to identify and accommodate new or changing scenarios as well as developing processes for new activities.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, a core science (such as geology, chemistry, physics, or biology), engineering, or related area required.
  • Related work experience of 0-2 years.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have strong organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills required. Must have demonstrated strength and proficiency with Microsoft applications such as MS Excel, MS Word, SharePoint Online, and ability to learn other software applications.
  • May be asked to work in the field and travel to complete work.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience or training regarding environmental compliance and related federal and state environmental regulations.
  • Experience with RCRA and state hazardous waste, non-RCRA waste, and regulated waste compliance and national experience.
