POSITION SUMMARY:
This is an entry-level opportunity requiring 0-2 years of experience. This role is a unique multi-disciplinary opportunity, ideal for an early-career professional looking to gain rapid exposure to both Environmental and Civil

Engineering services. The successful candidate will support and receive direct mentorship from local Project Managers in RVE’s Lehigh Valley Office working primarily on projects in the region. The opportunity offers broad exposure to a variety of technical disciplines involved in land acquisition and development, including but not limited to the following:

  • Environmental Site Assessments
  • Hazardous Materials Sampling, Analysis, and Abatement
  • Subsurface Investigations
  • Soil and Groundwater Sampling
  • Underground Storage Tank Removal and Closure
  • Land Surveying
  • Municipal Ordinance Review
  • Conceptual Site Plan Development
  • Stormwater Management
  • Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Systems Assessment
  • Building Structural Assessment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Environmental Due Diligence: Perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, including historical research and field inspections. Conduct Hazardous Materials Surveys (Asbestos, Lead Based Paint, PCBs) and monitoring for Indoor Air Quality. Perform Phase II ESAs including overseeing of underground storage tank removals (including soil verification sampling and closure reporting), assist with the planning and execution of field investigations by logging borings, collecting samples, performing field tests, and collecting and recording data. Field oversight of environmental investigations and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with job specifications and regulations.
  • Subsurface Investigations: Lead field efforts for soil and groundwater sampling investigations. Utilize ground penetrating radar and utility mark-outs to support safe excavations and assess subsurface site conditions.
  • Site Design and Development: Assist in the development of conceptual site plans using AutoCAD. Review municipal ordinances to ensure project compliance with local zoning and land-use laws.
  • Stormwater: Develop stormwater management strategies and drainage calculations.
  • Field Investigations: Oversee land title surveying and assist in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), Fire Suppression Systems and Structural Assessments for existing buildings. Identify and implement solutions to both routine and more complex field and/or laboratory problems and accurately document results; Communicate with supervisor on any challenges encountered on project sites.
  • Reporting: Assist with the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and plans; data management and evaluation; and environmental assessment and remediation. Develop recommendations to address any identified issues.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

This range represents a good faith estimate and is based on factors such as the role, level, and geographic location. The range shown reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for this position across all U.S. locations.

Within this range, individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors including skills, experience, education, and training.
