Entry level coding roles are open to individuals of all ages, including those starting at 25 or older. Many successful programmers begin learning later in life, and skills such as problem-solving and familiarity with programming languages like Python or JavaScript are more important than age. Employers value diverse experiences and backgrounds in tech teams.

How do you get a coding job with no experience?

Entry level coding jobs often require demonstrating foundational skills through personal projects, online portfolios, or coding bootcamps. Gaining certifications in relevant programming languages and participating in internships or open-source contributions can also improve chances of securing a position without prior work experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Entry Level Coder, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Entry Level Coder, you need a solid understanding of programming fundamentals, problem-solving abilities, and at least one commonly used language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript, often supported by a relevant degree or coding bootcamp experience. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, basic database management, and software development tools is typically expected. Attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and effective communication are essential soft skills that set candidates apart. These skills ensure you can write clean code, collaborate with teams, and adapt to evolving project requirements in a fast-paced tech environment.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

Entry-level coding jobs typically do not pay $10,000 a month without significant experience or specialized skills. High-paying tech roles such as software engineering or freelance programming can reach this level, especially with expertise in in-demand programming languages, remote work, or freelance contracts, but they usually require a strong skill set and portfolio rather than a formal degree.

What are some common challenges faced by entry-level coders during their first few months on the job?

Entry-level coders often encounter challenges such as adjusting to unfamiliar codebases, understanding team workflows, and learning how to effectively use collaboration tools like Git. Balancing the need to ask questions with independent problem-solving can also be difficult at first. With guidance from more experienced colleagues and participation in code reviews, new coders gradually become more confident and productive in their roles.

Job description

Benefits:

Are you interested in becoming a personal fitness trainer? BODY20 is a great way to gain entry to the fitness industry.
BODY20 is a new boutique fitness studio offering personal training with FDA-cleared Electric Muscle Stimulation (EMS) technology. One 20 minute workout is equivalent to hours in the gym so you can build muscle and burn calories without the need for heavy weights and impact on the joints.
Our entry level personal trainer roles do not require you to obtain a personal training certification (in fact you'll get discounts if you want to pursue a NASM or AFAA cert), or require previous fitness experience. The main requirement is a friendly disposition, some personal experience with fitness, and passion to help members improve their lives through fitness!
If you want to be at the intersection of fitness and technology and work for a rapidly growing brand on the cutting edge of the market, this may be the exact career opportunity you have been looking for.
Benefits and Perks
  • Your FOCUS is on training members -- you won't need to wander the gym floor soliciting your own book of business
  • Consistent schedule - we schedule you for a shift and our members will book themselves into the timeslots
  • Free Studio Membership
  • Product discounts
  • Fitness casual dress-code
  • Paid company training
  • Significant discounts for NASM & AFAA fitness training certifications
  • Access to a specialized medical plan with low premiums
  • Positive and collaborative work environment
  • Opportunity for promotion and career growth as the studio grows and more studios are opened
Responsibilities
  • Help members and prospective members suit up in our EMS wearables, and guide them through personal training sessions. During the workout, provide encouragement and positive energy, solicit member feedback and adjust EMS device settings as appropriate, and monitor / educate members on correct exercise form
  • Provide a high level of personalized attention to members, adjusting workouts accounting for injuries and goals
  • Document notes on workout progress and member observations to ensure a personalized and consistent experience
  • Prepare member progress reports and deliver progress reports and recommendations
  • Prepare for member appointments by preparing EMS suits and equipment
  • Clean and maintain the studio and equipment
  • Generate referrals by providing world class service and asking the members to bring their friends
  • Administer InBody (Bioelectric Impendence Analysis scale) evaluations
  • Obtain and maintain the required EMS certification - all training provided to you - no out of pocket cost for the EMS certification. The certification is a national EMS certification and may be accepted as continuing education credits for some national fitness certification organizations, making it much easier to maintain your certification there
  • May be called upon to assist with some sales and other activities if the training schedule is not fully booked
  • Essential Physical Requirements -- Must be able to perform all essential physical aspects of the position which may include standing, sitting, running, walking, jumping, squatting, bending, and reaching, as well as pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs in the course of normal studio operations and/or demonstrate the workouts to members
Desired Candidate Attributes
  • A passion for fitness
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Personal integrity, detail-oriented, organized, reliable and prompt
  • Willing and able to work some weekends and (non-major) holidays depending on member appointment schedules
