Job summary: The Electrician is required to install, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and maintain electrical and electronic components on various production machinery and equipment as well as electrical infrastructure.
Available Shifts:
  • 12 hour shift: 6am-6pm every other Wednesday, and every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
                • OR
  • 12 hour shift: 6pm-6am every other Wednesday, and every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday

Responsibilities:
  • Correctly complete any required reports or paperwork such as production data sheets, order documentation. Perform duties as assigned. Some ongoing duties include those listed below but are not inclusive to this position:
  • Perform electrical tasks including, but not limited to, running new wire, bending conduit, installing switches and other components, running electronic tests, cleaning contacts or circuit boards, replacing worn components, oiling motors.
  • Assemble, install, inspect, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring and equipment. Ensure compliance with applicable codes. Inspect and test electrical systems to identify hazard using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production; diagnose malfunctioning systems, locate the cause of the breakdown and repair. Respond timely to any electrical breakdown. Locate source of problem by observation, testing, talking with operator. Remove defective parts using power tools and other equipment. Repair to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
  • Able to work on systems with sensors and limit switches, motor controls, overload relays, PLC's, VFD's, solid state devices and monitors/displays.
  • Report equipment parts usage from stock to ensure accurate inventory; notify department supervisor of any parts and supplies needing to be ordered.
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job.
  • Document all work to ensure accurate maintenance records, ensure production operation is aware of status of equipment and improve overall communication between shifts.

Qualifications:
  • Technical training; high school diploma plus 3 years of experience in production machine repair.
  • Able to read and write English to read in interpret equipment manuals and work orders to performance required maintenance and service, maintain inspection reports, downtime logs, work orders.
  • Strong experience with PLC troubleshooting, installation and repair of A/C D/C motors, working with up to 600 volts.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines. Basic use of computer, tablet, scanner, iPad for recording information.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
  • Working knowledge of the national electrical codes applied in the industrial arena.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must stand, walk for prolonged periods of time; climb stairs
  • Regularly required to bend, stoop, reach
  • Lift in excess of 75 lbs. on an occasional basis
  • Exposed to varying temperatures hot/cold
