Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Hand buffing, grinding, moving of materials and product, sorting, grinding, drying, degreasing, and other duties of this type.
  • Set up and operate color code machine to produce a variety of products in the compression lug family and PIK sleeves. Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication.
  • Set up and operate semi-automated assembly machines to produce a variety of parts following prescribed methods and established routines.
  • Operates aqueous degreaser to clean, degrease, and dry, various castings, parts, containers, and any other items, following prescribed methods and established routines.
  • Maintain fluid levels in tanks, proper operating temperatures, and chemicals in correct proportions within tanks.
  • Load and unload parts in baskets or other containers, use hoists, and slings or other devices as necessary. Leave parts in degreaser for length of time necessary to clean properly.
  • Handles  material wastes properly following established procedures.
  • Assemble and solder various sizes and types of castings and studs, inspect finished parts, following prescribed methods and established routines. Use brazing belts, wheels, and benches to solder assemblies. Use solders, fluxes, brushes, files, and simple gauges to set tolerances, as specified.
  • Keep accurate and legible paperwork and records of all jobs performed, parts produced, quantities, elapse times, machine numbers, or any other data to maintain proper reporting as required.
  • Understand the proper operation and safety precautions of equipment.
  • Maintain an acceptable level of quality and quantity as specified.
  • Observe good housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Perform other similar and associated duties as required or assigned.
