Job Description

We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician, Level 1 to join the Facilities Department. At Eataly, this position is referred to as a Facilities Technician.
The Facilities Technician serves as the point of contact for the assigned shifts and takes the necessary actions to ensure that all facilities are in proper working order. Reports to the Area Facilities Manager.

  • Performs assigned day-to-day preventive maintenance and on-demand requests from Department Managers
  • Completes appropriate maintenance records in an accurately and timely manner
  • Performs assigned daily inspections and building rounds
  • Assists with troubleshooting and basic repairs of buildings and installed systems, including plumbing, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, drains, and HVAC
  • Assists with maintaining lighting systems throughout the facility, maintaining fixtures, and replacing bulbs and lamps
  • Observes how to use electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and correct problems
  • Performs manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
  • Understands and follows manuals, and reads and interprets circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
  • Provides excellent customer service and respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed with ability to know when to escalate
  • Observes and adheres to safety and health rules by following proper LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, working at heights and machine guarding
  • Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of facilities maintenance or equivalent experience/training
  • Basic working knowledge of one or several trade skills, such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC or general repair
  • Entry level proficiency with power tools
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to problem solve

Job Requirements

  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including days, nights, and weekends, with off-hours support when required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including stooping, standing, walking, bending and squatting

Compensation

  • Compensation for this role is CAD $23-$24 hourly
