Job Description

At Atlas, we're providing services that enable communities to flourish and thrive, and if you're a CMT Field Technician ready to help ensure the concrete, soil, and asphalt behind every project meet the standards our communities depend on and committed to doing meaningful work, then this is your moment. You'll travel to job sites across Southeast Texas to perform field and density testing on concrete, soil, and asphalt, transport equipment and specimens, log daily reports electronically, and relay findings to project managers and engineers. Core Responsibilities

  • Performs construction-related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Senior Engineer.

  • Travels to various construction sites primarily throughout the Southeast Texas area with the potential for overnight and/or weekend as needed.

  • Relays information to project manager and/or engineer, with limited in-field decision making.

  • Transports equipment, test specimens and/or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provides physical assistance in equipment set-up.

  • Enters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.

  • Performs field quality control tests of in place concrete.

  • Performs field density testing on soil, also perform concrete, asphalt and other construction materials testing.

  • Assists other technicians or professional staff on tasks and assists other departments as necessary.

  • Follows Atlas safety plans, programs, policies, and procedures.

Youll thrive here if you have

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

  • Construction Experience

  • Willing to learn and work any shift that is needed.

  • ACI, TXDOT, Asphalt Certifications

  • Familiar with Excel, and ability to learn new systems such as TXDOT Site Manager.

  • Ability to communicate well, and problem solve under pressure while adhering to project specifications (NEPA, FERC etc.)

  • Ability to travel, 25% of the time
