General Description of Position:

Next Adventure’s Team Lead(s) are the core leaders on the sales floor, and maintain the day to day operations of the retail floor. The Team Lead is responsible for opening and closing stores, ensuring that all retail departments are running smoothly, staff are well trained on product knowledge, product is well stocked, items are merchandised correctly, facilitate stock balancing, inventory regulation, and Associates are staying busy with daily tasks. Each Team Lead will have an area(s) of focus, but have a moderate level of accountability for the entire sales floor.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform store opening and closing procedures independently, including securing cash handling and alarm systems, and facilitate morning team meetings to review daily objectives and sales priorities.
  • Lead and Direct all Associates on the retail floor.
  • Confidently manage the operations of any retail department and be able to inspire Associates to work hard every day.
  • Perform as the Leader on the floor on any given day, as assigned.
  • Perform advanced POS, Rental & Inventory Management functions
  • Create/maintain effective training programs for Associates and track their progress.
  • Work with your team to manage the cycle count schedule.
  • Create clear merchandising plans, lead implementation, and be able to know when to make adjustments.
  • Implement the merchandising vision of the Buyer’s, Location Manager and Assistant Location Manager(s), and facilitate appropriate stock balancing when needed.
  • Be a master of handling customer complaints and finding win-win solutions.
  • Facilitate and find solutions to customer issues and complaints that align with Next Adventure’s values and mission.
  • Regularly monitor that all Associates are following safety protocol.
  • Buy used gear the Next Adventure way and know how to use the RAPID software.
  • To help facilitate warranty claims properly, while being able to identify unique solutions outside of the manufacturer's warranty.
  • Be able to work effectively in the rental department as needed and meet the standards laid out for all entry level Technicians.
  • Perform basic Rental functions: issuing rental articles, returning rental articles, creating customer profiles, and setting up reservations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting in store IT issues and know how/when to contact IT.
  • Perform moderate level boot fitting skills: must be able to measure/read in mondo point, read last, shell fit, size boots properly, perform liner heat molds, adjust canting, cut/fit insoles, and know when to ask for help
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a Next Adventure senior Associate for 1 year or experience working in an outdoor retail leadership position.
  • Ability to confidently discuss and demonstrate knowledge of a broad range of outdoor gear across multiple activities.
  • Ability to talk in general about any outdoor gear.
  • Have attended several industry clinics.
  • Have received Next Adventure’s used gear buyers training or equivalent.
  • Have experience handling warranty claims and customer complaints.
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Experience managing, leading and training a team.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Light to moderate lifting, with reasonable accommodation.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
