Job Description Job Overview: We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Project Engineer to join our team in the Nuclear sector. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your engineering and project management skills while working on critical projects within the nuclear industry. You will assist senior engineers in managing and executing various projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities: Project Support: Assist senior project engineers with planning, scheduling, and coordinating nuclear engineering projects. Help track project progress and assist with the management of timelines, resources, and deliverables. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including technical reports, meeting minutes, schedules, and progress reports.

Ensure all documents are accurately filed and compliant with industry standards. Regulatory Compliance: Support the team in ensuring all project activities adhere to nuclear safety regulations, codes, and standards. Help prepare documentation required for regulatory approvals and audits.

Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Assist in the coordination of suppliers, contractors, and vendors. Help ensure the timely delivery of materials and services as per project specifications and requirements. Technical Assistance: Support the technical aspects of project execution by assisting with design reviews, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring systems meet operational and safety standards.

Project Monitoring: Monitor project progress by tracking key milestones and performance metrics. Report any deviations from the project plan and assist with corrective actions when necessary. Team Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers, to ensure smooth project delivery.

Attend project meetings and communicate updates to stakeholders. Risk Management: Assist in identifying potential risks and helping develop mitigation strategies. Monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle and escalate issues as needed.

Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with nuclear industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, or related field).

Experience: No prior professional experience is required, but any relevant internship or academic project experience in engineering or nuclear-related fields is a plus. Skills: Strong understanding of engineering principles and project management processes. Basic knowledge of nuclear industry regulations, codes, and standards is an advantage.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with project management software is a plus. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail. Certifications: Any relevant certifications or coursework related to nuclear engineering or project management would be a bonus.

Security Clearance at OPG or Bruce Power would be an asset. Additional Requirements: Ability to work in a highly regulated and safety-conscious environment. Willingness to undergo security clearances and background checks as required for nuclear-related roles.
