The Tech 2, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and operational reliability of the instrumentation and controls that support facility-wide equipment, and facility systems through effective Preventive and Corrective Maintenance and Calibration practices and know-how.

What You’ll Do
- Performs intermediate instrumentation and controls troubleshooting, repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance to all site equipment, systems, process measurement and control, utility, laboratory, and bench-top instrumentation
- Performs calibrations to instrumentation and controls
- Follows standard procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) quality standards
- Provides input and recommendation for written instruction of preventive maintenance tasks and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Assists in the development of maintenance and calibration procedures and programs
- Performs loop checks for new instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
- Performs lock out tag out (LOTO) as required to complete I&C/Metrology activities
- Mentors’ entry-level technicians
- Adheres to all safety requirements and follow safe work practices
- Notifies management or Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) when unsafe conditions or hazards are found
- Supports site operations and emergency work orders during off-hours, as needed
- Performs spare parts assessments, as required
- Other duties, as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Effective communication, both written and oral
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Must be able to support 24/7 manufacturing facility, including shift, on-call, and weekends
Required Skills
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2-4 years of I&C or similar experience
- Experience with tools and equipment used to perform maintenance work
Preferred Skills
- Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering or a related field
- Prior I&C experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or other regulated environment
- Prior experience working in a GMP environment
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
