Junior Weapon Effects Analyst
Location: Indian Head, MD Type: Full Time Min. Experience: Entry Level
Salary Range: $86,000-$101,000 USD per year
Advanced Technology & Research Corporation (www.atrcorp.com) is seeking to fill the following full-time permanent position. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as a weapon effects analyst at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division, Indian Head, MD. You'll have an opportunity to work on world-class military programs that support the US Navy's Warfare technology as part of the Weapons Effect and Analysis Branch. The applicant will work as part of the Modeling and Simulation team supporting work on assessing lethality and weapon effects of fielded and emerging weapon utilizing advanced high fidelity hydrocode simulations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Physics
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
  • Familiarity in using a variety of programming languages and styles: including graphical oriented MATLAB and object oriented (C++, Python, Fortran, Linux operating systems)
  • Familiarity with digital signal processing techniques
  • Background/experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and/or computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
  • Familiarity with high-fidelity hydrocodes (desired, but not required)
  • Experience with Power Point, MS Word & Excel
  • A self-starter able to work on tasks individually or as part of a small technical team
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, both orally and in writing
  • Some minimal travel may be required
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation a plus.
