Company Overview

Ramsgate Family Care Home is a licensed family care home facility located in Durham, NC, dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized care for senior citizens. Our mission is to create a nurturing environment that promotes the well-being and dignity of our residents.

We are seeking a Nursing Instructor to join our team at Ramsgate Family Care Home in Durham, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for educating and training nursing staff to ensure the highest standards of care for our residents. Your expertise will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of care provided at our facility. In addition, we are seeking nurses to teach classes at our facility to a group of 10 or less students who are trying to pass the state exam for the Medication Tech course, and also for Spanish speaking students taking our PCA 80-hour course to become a Patient Care Assistant. Obtaining the MedTech certificate will allow persons to pass out medication to patients/residents who reside in Family Care Homes.  The PCA 80-hour course will allow students to gain an entry level position as a Patient Care Assistant working in assisted living facilities or working with home health agencies.

We also are looking to have registered nurses teach our courses on Infection Control, Bloodborne Pathogens, and First Aid for Healthcare workers.

We are looking for RNs who would like to teach Medication Aide classes to people who are working in assisted living facilities and need to get certification to pass out medication in family care homes. For those nurses interested, we will provide you with the NC State Medication Aide manual, which is the text that you will be utilizing to teach the class. This course is one of our premier courses that we offer our students. Not only do we own and operate a family care home, which is Ramsgate Family Care Home, llc, but we also operate a separate business, Family Care Home Consultants, LLC, where we teach allied healthcare courses. The PCA 80-hour course is our newest addition to our line-up of allied health courses that we offer.

We are specifically looking to hire bilingual nurse educators, Spanish speaking RN's to teach our Latin-American population who speak Spanish as their primary language. The medication-Aide  course is usually taught within a 15-hour span of time. the course can be broken up into two or three days of instruction. The teaching time can differ from person to person depending on their style and method of teaching. Once you receive the Medication-Aide  manual, you can implement your own teaching style and methodology of teaching the course. The manual also comes with a study guide, sample questions, sample MARs, and an answer key to all the questions.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license in North Carolina.

  • Ability to develop engaging educational materials.
  • Experience with adult and High school student education principles is highly desirable.

Ramsgate Family Care Home is hiring CNA/Med-Techs. We are taking applications for full-time and part-time CNA's to work with 3 seniors. The job responsibilities will require you to take vital signs, prepare meals, and light housekeeping. You will need to feed, give baths and help with grooming for only one of the residents. For those CNA's who have their Med-Tech certifications, you will be responsible for administering medications to the three residents. Salary is commensurate with experience. For those CNA's who do not have a Med-Tech certificate, we will help you to obtain that certification. We teach classes to help CNA's pass the state exam for becoming a Med-Tech. We offer the class as a benefit, free of charge, for working at our facility.
