Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center - Mesquite, TX
We are seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist, also referred to a as a Cath Lab Technologist or Cath Lab Tech. A Cath Lab Tech will be a specialized healthcare professional dedicated to assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular conditions. Their responsibilities primarily involve performing diagnostic tests, managing equipment, and supporting physicians during procedures. Cardiovascular technologists are essential to cardiac care, ensuring accurate diagnostics, safe interventions, and high-quality patient support. Their expertise is crucial to the efficient operation of the cardiology department at our hospital.
Responsibilities
**Candidates who are within six months of obtaining their Registered Technologist (R.T.) certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT / ARRT-R) are encouraged to apply. Recent graduates and entry-level applicants are also welcome!
  • Perform Electrocardiograms (EKGs) to measure the electrical activity of the heart, monitor the heart's rhythm, and detect abnormalities such as arrhythmias
  • Work with cardiologists to assist in cardiac catheterizations for interventional procedures, to examine the heart and possibly treat blockages
  • Assist with angioplasty and stenting, minimally invasive procedures designed to open blocked arteries and aid physicians in placing stents to keep these arteries open
  • May assist in the setup and monitoring of pacemakers and defibrillator implantations, devices that help regulate the heart's rhythm
  • Prepare patients for cardiovascular tests and procedures, including positioning, explaining the procedure, and ensuring patient comfort
  • During tests and interventional procedures, monitor the patient's vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, etc.) and report any issues to the supervising physician

Qualifications
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
  • BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current, required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), required within 30 days of hire
  • Proficient computer skills
  • ARRT-R and license as required by State or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), preferred
  • Cardiovascular technologist training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring, preferred
  • Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Lab, preferred
