THIS OPPORTUNITY IS LOCATED IN HEBRON, KY.
Spiro is hiring an entry-level Carpenter to join our production team. Immediate opportunity for an entry level Exhibit Fabricator/Cabinet Maker to work as part of a team to produce and repair tradeshow exhibit components, as well as produce other projects such as retail displays. This position focuses on carpentry-related tasks in the fast-paced environment of a trade show exhibit house, where deadlines cannot be missed. This position includes, but is not limited to, the responsibilities and qualifications indicated in this post.

Responsibilities:
  • Laminating exhibit cabinets and display components
  • Assist and learn construction/refurbishment methods for basic exhibit, retail and permanent structures using materials such as plywood, MDF, acrylic and metal
  • Assist with the installation of lighting, audio visual and graphic components in accordance with the design and construction drawings
  • Assist with the assembly and installation custom structures in tradeshow, retail or corporate environments
  • Perform box assembly or internal crate packing/stenciling
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely
  • Perform cycle counts of raw material inventory when assigned
  • Organize and maintain a clean/safe workspace and follow company safety guidelines
  • Respect and properly maintain company equipment
  • Maintain communications in a cooperative, respectful and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers

Qualifications:
  • Manual dexterity, mechanically inclined
  • Experience in cabinet building, woodworking furniture, carpentry or retail store fixtures
  • Ability to use woodworking saws, power tools and hand tools
  • Experience working with high-pressure plastic laminates a plus
  • Experience with residential trim and casework a plus
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends during peak seasons
  • Forklift experience (will certify once hired)
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently once given assignment
  • Ability to read and follow work order details thoroughly
  • Ability to follow directions and respect supervision
  • Ability to communicate openly, honestly and constructively
  • Basic computer skills a plus
