Job description

We are seeking dedicated Wood Shop Associates to join our medium-sized team in NW Portland. If you take pride in working with your hands, have experience with both hand and power tools, and are comfortable with regular heavy lifting, this opportunity is for you. As part of our team, you will report to the Shop Supervisor and contribute to producing high-quality carpentry, cabinetry, or furniture projects in a safe and efficient environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Measure materials accurately using a tape measure to the 1/16th inch
  • Handle and move heavy materials regularly (up to 100 lbs)
  • Assemble components following carpentry and furniture building techniques
  • Inspect work for quality and adherence to safety standards
  • Maintain equipment and manage inventory as needed
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals
  • Comply with all safety protocols and shop policies

Required Qualifications

  • Entry-level experience in carpentry or related fields
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately to the 1/16th inch
  • Proficient in operating power tools
  • Knowledge of carpentry techniques and carpentry safety compliance
