Job description


The Extraction Expeditor is responsible for supporting daily extraction operations by ensuring cannabis material is received, organized, prepared, and processed efficiently throughout the extraction workflow. This role plays a critical part in maintaining operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, quality standards, and compliance within a regulated laboratory environment.
Working closely with the Extraction Supervisor and Laboratory team, this position supports pre-extraction preparation, post-extraction processing, inventory management, equipment cleaning, and general laboratory operations. This is an entry-level role designed to provide hands-on experience within cannabis extraction while supporting safe and efficient production processes.

Responsibilities Material Preparation & Processing
  • Receive, organize, and manage incoming cannabis material for extraction operations
  • Verify manifests, product weights, and material documentation for accuracy
  • Inspect incoming material and escalate quality concerns such as contamination, mold, pests, or other defects
  • Prepare cannabis material in accordance with production schedules and work orders
  • Pack extraction columns in preparation for extraction runs
  • Empty and prepare extraction columns following production activities
  • Support efficient material flow throughout extraction operations
Inventory Management & Record Keeping
  • Label, organize, and maintain freezer inventory and storage areas
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and material tracking documentation
  • Support inventory counts, audits, and reconciliation activities
  • Assist with supply monitoring and restocking activities
  • Complete operational logs and required documentation accurately and timely
Compliance & Laboratory Operations
  • Follow all state regulations and internal compliance procedures
  • Ensure all work is performed in alignment with SOPs and laboratory standards
  • Support waste tracking and disposal processes in accordance with company procedures
  • Maintain accurate production and inventory documentation
  • Support audit readiness through proper record keeping and organization
Equipment Maintenance & Sanitation
  • Clean and sanitize laboratory glassware, equipment, tools, and workspaces
  • Assist with equipment cleaning and routine maintenance activities
  • Identify and communicate equipment issues or operational concerns to leadership
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment
  • Follow all PPE requirements and safety protocols
Operational Support
  • Assist with opening and closing operational procedures
  • Support research and development activities as directed
  • Provide cross-functional support to other departments as business needs require
  • Assist with special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • College coursework or technical education preferred
  • Must possess and maintain an active MED Badge
  • Prior experience in cannabis extraction, laboratory operations, or manufacturing environments preferred
  • Experience working in a licensed cannabis facility preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
  • Ability to identify operational issues and communicate concerns appropriately
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable transportation required
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role is primarily onsite in Boulder, CO and requires regular work within a cannabis extraction laboratory environment. The position typically follows a 40-hour work week, with overtime opportunities based on operational needs.

The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and repetitive movement throughout the workday. Employees must be able to lift and move up to 80 pounds and work safely around extraction equipment, cannabis materials, cleaning chemicals, and cold-storage environments. Exposure to freezer temperatures is common.

Personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, eye protection, respirators, hearing protection, and safety footwear, must be worn as required.
