IT Systems Analyst

Description
The IT Systems Analyst partners with university stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and document business needs,

translating operational challenges into effective technology solutions and process improvements. As part of the

business solutions team, the analyst collaborates with senior team members while gaining hands-on experience in

enterprise systems and institutional workflows. Responsibilities include gathering and documenting business

requirements, supporting system implementations, developing functional specifications, analyzing business processes,

and recommending technology enhancements to improve efficiency, user experience, and organizational effectiveness.


Essential Job Duties


  • Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of assigned enterprise applications, including functionality, configuration, workflows, reporting, integrations, and vendor roadmaps, serving as the primary functional advisor to business stakeholders.
  • Analyze existing business processes and recommend system configuration changes or process improvements to increase efficiency, scalability, and user experience.
  • Own the day-to-day health of assigned enterprise applications, including configuration, testing, documentation, release management, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with software vendors to evaluate new functionality, coordinate upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the university maximizes platform capabilities.
  • Develop and execute test plans for system enhancements, integrations, upgrades, and new functionality.
  • Build reports and dashboards that enable departments to make informed operational decisions.
  • Document requirements (i.e. specifications, user stories, process models, diagrams, charts, mockups, acceptance criteria etc.) in a clear manner that is comprehensible to development teams
  • Monitor customer support requests related to software applications that are submitted through the Help Deskand address these requests based on impact to the organizational mission and operations.
  • Track remediation efforts with managed services to ensure compliance with all security, regulatory and quality policies and procedures 
  • Report status on regular basis and escalate, highlight risks as appropriate 
  • Understanding the ethical implications of data usage, storage, and analysis in terms of privacy.
  • Other duties as assigned by the director.

Qualifications 

  • Working cohesively with other team members to achieve departmental goals.
  • Database tools, including Google, Microsoft, and SQL
  • Strong analytical skills to create reports and offer recommendations as needed.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects from beginning to completion.
  • Experience with programming language, CSS, HTML, API, JSON
  • Experience with CRM, Cloud-based systems, and Third-Party integrations
