The Senior Business Analyst – Data & Analytics position is a highly analytical and technically capable role supporting the development and enhancement of business intelligence and reporting capabilities in a weather-driven market. This position plays a key role in improving data visibility and strengthening cross-functional decision-making across the organization. In addition to analytics responsibilities, this role will support key business system and digitization initiatives by translating operational needs into functional requirements for ERP enhancements and new application implementations.

This role moves the organization beyond spreadsheet-based tools toward automated reporting tools and integrated datasets with cross-functional KPIs, delivering actionable insights that support commercial strategy, operational planning, and executive decision-making.

The position works with internal operational and financial data, as well as selected external datasets such as weather patterns and wildfire activity, to enhance visibility into business performance. The role partners closely with Finance, Sales, and Operations to strengthen reporting consistency, reduce manual processes, and improve data-driven decision-making, with initial focus across the United States and Canada.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include (not in any priority):

Business Intelligence & Reporting Development

  • Evaluate, design, and implement dashboards using modern analytics tools such as Power BI or comparable platforms
  • Reduce reliance on manual spreadsheet reporting through automated, governed data models
  • Integrate external datasets including weather data, wildfire acreage, and market indicators into reports
  • Consolidate data from ERP, accounting, sales, manufacturing, and production systems
  • Develop and maintain data models to improve reporting accuracy and usability
  • Document data sources, logic, and report definitions to promote transparency and consistency
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across reporting outputs
  • Maintain reporting refresh schedules, user access controls, and documentation standards
  • Support ongoing improvements to reporting processes and data governance practices

Business Systems & Digitization Support

  • Serve as the business unit liaison for ERP enhancements, reporting improvements, and other digitization initiatives
  • Partner with Finance, Sales, and Operations to gather, document, and translate business requirements into clear functional specifications
  • Develop business requirements documents (BRDs), process maps, and use cases for internal IT teams or external implementation partners
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation of system enhancements prior to production deployment
  • Assist with change management efforts, including documentation, training materials, and process communication
  • Monitor post-implementation performance to ensure systems and reporting tools meet business needs

Business Partnership

  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to business stakeholders
  • Deliver commercial analysis tied to daily sales activity and correlated with market conditions
  • Partner with Finance on profitability and margin analysis beyond standard financial statements
  • Support Operations with material planning data integrity improvements and process efficiency
  • Identify opportunities for trend analysis, basic forecasting, and development of core KPIs
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Required Qualification, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data analysis roles
  • Strong experience developing dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
  • Experience supporting ERP enhancements or system implementations from a business or functional perspective
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel and data manipulation techniques
  • Experience consolidating and validating data from multiple sources
  • Proficiency in leveraging AI-enabled tools to enhance data modeling, reporting development, and dataset preparation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage analytics projects from requirements gathering through dashboard delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications in BI platforms, and SQL proficiency
  • Experience participating in ERP upgrades or new application rollouts
  • Experience creating process flow diagrams or functional specifications
  • Experience working in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments
  • Exposure to environmental or market-based datasets
  • Basic knowledge of forecasting or trend analysis techniques
