Business Systems Analyst
Location: Richmond, VA
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire or Direct Hire
Target Compensation: $80,000- $100,000+ depending on experience

Position Summary
We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support manufacturing business systems and major ERP initiatives. This role will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, operations, IT, and other cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, improve system functionality, and support the configuration and implementation of enterprise systems.

A key focus of this position will be supporting significant SAP S/4HANA implementation and transformation initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong manufacturing background combined with hands-on experience with SAP, ERP, and/or MES systems. Experience configuring SAP S/4HANA in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with manufacturing, operations, engineering, and IT teams to identify business needs and translate them into system requirements.
  • Support large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementation and transformation projects, with a focus on manufacturing functionality.
  • Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities to improve system functionality, efficiency, and data flow.
  • Configure and support SAP S/4HANA functionality based on manufacturing business requirements.
  • Gather requirements, document business processes, develop functional specifications, and support solution design.
  • Work with technical teams and system stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Support integration and process flows between SAP, MES, ERP, and other manufacturing systems.
  • Participate in system testing, validation, user acceptance testing, and implementation activities.
  • Assist with system upgrades, enhancements, data-related initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure solutions meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to system users and help drive adoption of new functionality.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working as a Business Systems Analyst, Systems Analyst, ERP Analyst, SAP Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong experience supporting manufacturing operations and business processes.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP, ERP, and/or MES platforms.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA is strongly preferred, particularly within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience configuring SAP S/4HANA or other ERP functionality based on business requirements.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, systems, and data flows.
  • Experience participating in ERP implementations, system transformations, upgrades, or major enhancement projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and non-technical manufacturing stakeholders.
