  • Work with the structural engineer of record to develop structural design solutions for portions of buildings and structures integrating project objectives and design criteria
  • Prepare and interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans
  • Deliver complete and accurate structural designs and prepare structural drawings and details on time and within design budget
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager to deliver assignments within defined budget and schedule
  • Check work of others, as assigned
  • Interact and communicate effectively with design team members
  • Understanding and ability to prepare basic design of structural steel, concrete, and masonry components and framing systems
  • Under supervision, perform a variety of technical tasks that provide experience and familiarization with engineering procedures and scientific methods, practices, standards and company programs
  • Under supervision, apply a variety of engineering methods to complete defined portions of broader assignments led by experienced engineers
  • Under supervision, follow detailed instructions to complete assigned tasks and achieve expected results
  • Limited external communications or contacts
Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis
  • Professional Registration: EIT (Engineer-in-Training) preferred, not required
  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Basic knowledge of structural design and computer analysis methods
  • Familiarity with policies and procedures for structural design
  • Working knowledge of design and analysis computer programs and tools related to structural design (AutoCAD, Revit)
  • Familiarity with engineering standards specifications of the industry
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
