Job description

Join a growing and collaborative Palliative Care team at a 437-bed regional hospital serving a population of over 700,000 in sunny Southern California. This full-time, employed opportunity offers a meaningful mix of inpatient consults and outpatient clinic work, supported by a robust interdisciplinary team. With no admissions, strong hospitalist support, and a Monday-Friday schedule, this is an ideal role for physicians seeking professional fulfillment and work-life balance. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor residents and fellows, help shape a young and growing program, and participate in quality initiatives. Whether you are newly fellowship-trained or an experienced palliative physician, this role allows you to make a lasting impact in an expanding service line. 
 
Practice Highlights: 

  • Monday-Friday schedule: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM 
  • 100% focus on Palliative Medicine 
  • Inpatient consults + follow-ups; outpatient clinic in Cancer Center 
  • No admissions: hospitalists manage inpatient care 
  • Interdisciplinary team includes PA, RN, Social Worker, and Chaplain 
  • Required rotations for IM/FM residents and pulmonary fellows 
  • Involvement in academic and community education opportunities 
  • Flexibility to shape program growth and quality initiatives 
  • ~50+ inpatient consults/month with growing outpatient scope 
  • Targeting 3-4 outpatient half-day clinics per week 
  • Ideal for both recent graduates and experienced physicians 


 
Compensation & Benefits: 

  • Competitive base salary based on experience 
  • Performance bonus up to 10% of base 
  • Additional pay for educational duties 
  • Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance 
  • $3,000 CME + 20 PTO days + 7 federal holidays
