Job description

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

If you love working with children and want a meaningful career, this role is a great fit for you! Whether you've worked as a nanny, tutor, or camp counselor, or are studying psychology, education, biology, or human services, this position offers a valuable opportunity to explore or start a career in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). You'll support children in developing communication, problem-solving, and social skills. We're hiring entry-level candidates as well as certified Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who are ready to grow their careers.

As an RBT at BTS, you'll work 1:1 with children with autism or developmental delays to build communication, social, play, and daily living skills through structured, play-based activities. Sessions take place in the child's home, clinic, or school, lasting 2–3 hours. We tailor your caseload to fit your availability and match you with age groups you're comfortable with, from toddlers to teens.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Delivering one-on-one behavior support through fun, individualized activities
  • Implementing behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
  • Collecting and recording data on client progress accurately
  • Communicating regularly with families to provide updates and support
  • Participating in ongoing training, team meetings, and supervision sessions

Qualifications

  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude and a passion for working with children
  • 6 months of experience working or volunteering with individuals with intellectual disabilities is a must.
  • Candidates with an RBT, ABAT, or BCAT certification.
  • Preferred: Current student or recent graduate in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Biology, or related field.
  • Spanish-speaking is a plus!
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
  • Reliability and a willingness to work with a variety of clients

Requirements

  • Active RBT/ABAT/BCAT certification is required for this position.
  • * (If you're do not hold an ABA paraprofessional/BT certification or training, please apply to the Behavior Technician role) *
  • If you do not have an RBT/ABAT/OR BCAT certification, you must complete a 40-hour RBT training course prior to employment.
  • Must maintain an active RBT/ABAT/BCAT as a requirement for continued employment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • This job requires reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and auto insurance.
  • This job requires a CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain during onboarding)
  • This job requires a TB test (within 90 days), MMR & Varicella Immunization, and a Pre-employment Physical (within the past year).
