Job Description
Position: Computational Biologist/Bioinformatician
Location: Baltimore, Maryland (Remote)
We are actively seeking a Computational Biologist/Bioinformatician to augment our R&D team. Our focus is on innovating advanced molecular diagnostics kits, devices, and methodologies for the analysis of biological data, reporting directly to the VP of Technology Development.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Pioneeringthe development of innovative software tools, algorithms, and analysispipelines to expedite the transition from concept to practical testing.
  • Leadingthe in-silico design and characterization of new molecular assays forinfectious diseases, leveraging qPCR and related technologies.
  • Supervisingthe conversion of extensive biological customer data into actionableinsights through data mining, advanced visualizations, and machinelearning.
  • Assistingthe R&D team in creating scripts for efficient calculations andproject management.
  • Directingthe company's overarching initiatives in the digitization of biology.

Requirements
  • Hold aMaster's or Ph.D. degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant workexperience.
  • Possessextensive knowledge in computational biology or bioinformatics,mathematics, and computer programming.
  • Capabilityto work independently on complex and challenging projects.
  • Proficiencyin and a passion for data visualization and effective communication ofdata science findings.
  • Demonstrableexperience with data science toolkits, machine learning, statisticalmodeling, and tool development.
  • Solidunderstanding of developing ML and statistical models for real-worldapplications.
  • Strongprogramming skills in Python and/or R; familiarity with Rust is a plus.
  • Experiencewith Linux High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster is advantageous.
