Job Description:
seeking a team-oriented designer focused on modeling using AutoDesk Inventor to join the greenhouse Design & Engineering team based in Cincinnati, OH. The Design & Engineering team works closely with project management, supply chain and manufacturing to ensure successful project execution.
Entry level member of the Design & Engineering team that prepares quality permit & approval drawings, shop drawings and bills of materials for the Operations team. Responsible for creating models and drawings for multiple projects on a continuous basis to meet drawing submittal and release deadlines. Ideal candidate is a proactive learner excited to explore, master and apply advanced capabilities within Inventor.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Create 3D parametric models and fabrication/construction drawings of greenhouse product lines using Autodesk Inventor.
* Develop detailed part, assembly and system-level models for greenhouse structures, glazing systems and assemblies.
* Produce shop and installation drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, weld symbols, reference tags and details.
* Coordinate with design management and project management to resolve design issues and support installation sequencing.
* Incorporate applicable building codes, material standards and safety requirements into designs.
* Manage revisions, redlines and change orders while maintaining accurate documentation and revision control.
* Utilize Autodesk Vault to manage files, revisions and documentation.
* Support fabrication and installation crews through design clarification and issue resolution.
* Identify and contribute to improvement opportunities within your areas of expertise.
* Assist in the generation and management of material takeoffs and bills of materials (BOMs) using Excel and Inventor for submittal to Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
* Participate/aid in design layouts and detailing features that require researching, compiling and recording information for an assigned project.
* Use all available resources to provide professional and accurate documents within established time frame.
* Commit to continuous growth and improvement of professional and personal skills.
* Expected to monitor, track and report hours worked on multiple projects.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
* Associates' degree in Engineering, Architecture, Detailing, or related field, and 2 years" experience in Design and Fabrication preferred.
* In lieu of professional degree: Experience Drafting in Architectural Firm, Fabrication or Construction Industries will be considered.
* Working knowledge of assembly and part creation, part nesting or referencing, Model States and I-Logic within Inventor.
* Understand how to use Autodesk Inventor to produce various deliverables: Fabrication drawings, Detail drawings, Cut sheets, BOMs, etc.; in a variety of formats: Navis, STPs, DWGs, DXFs, PDFs, etc.
* Possess a basic understanding of Autodesk Vault functionality: File organizational strategies, Collaboration, Change management.
* Experience applying standard drafting techniques to develop legible, complete and consistent drawing sets for fabrication and construction.
* Understanding of the Architectural design and construction processes.
* Capable of working both independently and as part of the team.
* Collaborate with others to determine best solutions.
* Clear and professional communication skills.
Technical Skills: AutoDesk Suite (minimum AutoCAD, Inventor & Vault), MS Office and Excel. Capability with Revit, Navisworks and Epicor is a plus.
