Key responsibilities

  • Perform jewelry repairs such as ring sizing, chain and clasp repairs, stone tightening and setting, prong rebuilding and retipping, and jewelry restoration and refinishing.

  • Engage in jewelry fabrication, including custom jewelry creation, head and shank replacement, and working with antique, estate, and fine jewelry.

  • Conduct polishing, rhodium plating, soldering, laser welding, and gemstone setting to ensure high-quality craftsmanship.

Market Square Jewelers is seeking a talented Bench Jeweler / Goldsmith to join our growing team. Whether you're an experienced jeweler looking to expand your skills or a seasoned master goldsmith with decades of experience, we'd love to meet you.


We specialize in antique, vintage, and estate jewelry, giving our jewelers the opportunity to work on one-of-a-kind pieces every day. Our ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys solving technical challenges, and is committed to delivering exceptional quality.


We are looking for a full-time role or part-time role. We have on-site positions available in Newburyport, MA and Dover, NH.


What You'll Do


Depending on your experience, responsibilities may include:

  • Ring sizing (gold, platinum, and silver)
  • Chain and clasp repairs
  • Soldering and laser welding
  • Stone tightening and setting
  • Prong rebuilding and retipping
  • Jewelry restoration and refinishing
  • Colored Gemstone and Diamond Setting
  • Polishing and rhodium plating
  • Fabrication of custom jewelry
  • Head and shank replacement
  • Antique and estate jewelry restoration


We're Looking For


We are open to candidates at all experience levels.


Entry-Level / Developing Bench Jeweler

  • Experience with ring sizing and basic jewelry repairs
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Desire to learn and grow under experienced jewelers
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic


Experienced / Master Jeweler

  • Extensive experience with advanced jewelry repair and restoration
  • Strong fabrication and soldering skills
  • Experience working with antique, estate, and fine jewelry preferred
  • Ability to diagnose complex repair challenges independently
  • Pride in craftsmanship and efficiency


Qualifications
  • Bench jewelry experience preferred (all levels considered)
  • Experience working with gold, platinum, and silver
  • Strong hand skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high quality standards
  • Passion for fine craftsmanship
