Summary
We have several openings for a Service Center Manager Trainee at locations at locations in the Midwest. The Manager Trainee position performs duties, under general direction of experienced personnel, to gain knowledge and experience required for possible advancement into management positions. This is an entry level management position. This position reports to the Service Center Area Manager.
Hours
7:30 am – 4:30 pm M-F
Service Center Manager Trainee Qualifications:
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Experience and ability to supervise office and production employees.
  • Sales/customer service experience in metal components and/or roofing products.
  • Ability to travel and work independently.
  • Experience working with administrative functions such as: inventory control, invoicing records, computer transactions, cash deposits, and material estimates.
  • Ability to handle materials and material handling equipment.
Service Center Manager Trainee Responsibilities:
  • Assists with coordinating work load with employee staffing on an on-going basis in order to efficiently utilize the workforce.
  • Travel to other Service Center locations possibly for weeks at a time.
  • Solicits current and potential customers to increase Service Center’s sales.
  • Assists customers in selection of products and writes orders for additional items needed. Arranges for delivery to customer.
  • Enters orders into computer.
  • Invoices orders after shipment.
  • Keeps inventory control records current and places orders to replenish stock.
  • Completes daily sales summary and deposits cash receipts in bank.
  • Approves vendor invoices for payment.
  • Loads and unloads trucks.
  • Assists in creating and estimating material lists for customers.
