Job description

The Financial Crimes QA Specialist is responsible for assisting with analyzing and understanding policy, procedure, and regulations related to BSA/AML, OFAC, and Fraud in order to analyze data and conducting quality assurance testing to monitor compliance and best practices, and identify risk or gaps in controls.
  1. Independently execute testing activities in accordance with scope or procedure to ensure controls are functioning in adherence to Bank policy and/or regulation
  2. Work collaboratively with QA Analysts and QA Manager to help ensure testing activities adequately address the goals of testing/scope.
  3. Assist with tracking and monitoring corrective action/follow-up activities.
  4. Conduct testing by using various testing methods and accurately interpret and record results
  5. Identify control and process weaknesses through testing activities and assist in determining root cause analysis
  6. Conduct follow-up testing activities to provide assurance that remediation adequately addresses risk
  7. Consistently prepare documentation to accurately and effectively outline the testing activities and results to support results
  8. Routinely demonstrate concise and professional communication, both written and verbal
  9. Assist in the creation and management of the department's policies, procedures, and various templates.
  10. Review, research, and evaluate Bank programs, policy, procedure, and systems for various business units
  11. Understand BSA and OFAC regulatory requirements and Fraud risk
  12. Complete assigned tasks to help achieve departmental initiatives which may include special projects, testing new products or services, collecting and creating data for audits, risk assessments, regulatory exams or other QA activities
  13. Promote continuous improvement by participating in training opportunities and offering innovative solutions to streamline processes and improve efficiencies
  14. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties and special projects, as assigned

Position Requirements:
Self-motivated individual who possesses the following:
  • Associates degree strongly preferred. A high school diploma with 2+ years of strong commensurate experience in audit, compliance testing, or risk analysis may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 1 - 2 years of prior experience in compliance/controls testing, data validation, or BSA/AML/Fraud analysis.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are required - ability to accurately and efficiently conduct testing, problem-solve, review and analyze data, assess risk, and conduct root cause analysis
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to successfully manage multiple assignments, large amounts of data and information, and meet established timelines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate advanced skills in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic, independent initiative, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
