WSP is searching for a full-time Early Career Aviation Planner (entry level) to join our team in Raleigh, NC, other locations may be acceptable.

Your Impact
  • Successful applicant will work with our aviation planners and project managers in various disciplines to support our aviation planning projects across the country and will be assigned to our Raleigh office team, although other location options may be considered. Remote work flexibility is available.
  • Specific responsibilities may include computer-aided design, records management, calculations, data gathering and presentation, online data research, field investigations, researching technical topics, and document control.
  • Some assignments may also be related to other transportation modes and facilities.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Planning or Engineering (or closely related discipline) within an accredited program or equivalent experience.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
  • Knowledge of aviation planning and/or engineering theories and principles required.
  • Strong capabilities in business software, including Microsoft Excel and Word, also a good grasp of engineering/planning applications, such as AutoCAD, AviPlan, InfraWorks.
  • Competence in written and oral communications in English.
  • Must be a team player, able to support and collaborate with team
  • Must be able to juggle multiple project priorities.
  • Ability to work in the United States immediately is required.
  • Ability to pass necessary background checks to obtain a security badge.
  • Perform work in a responsible and ethical manner and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Commitment to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with a planning or engineering firm, an airport, a state department of transportation, or other aviation stakeholder (including through internship or co-op).
  • Knowledge of aviation operations, management, planning and/or engineering is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with CAD software solutions (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.) is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with aviation-specific applications (e.g., AviPLAN Airside Pro) is desired.
  • Knowledge of GIS, InfraWorks, runwaySimulator, CAST, or SIMMOD is a plus.
