Overview

Kimley-Horn's San Jose office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Aviation team. This is not a remote position. 

Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports for aviation-related projects.
  • Perform analyses, calculations, and design tasks with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, technical staff, and construction-phase teams to ensure deliverables meet quality standards and client needs.
  • Assist in permitting, report writing, and supporting deliverable production timelines.
  • Troubleshoot design issues and provide innovative solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required; PE license is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • 2+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on aviation-related projects (airfields, runways, taxiways, terminals, etc.).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil engineering software tools.
  • Understanding of FAA and aviation-related design standards and regulations.
  • Technical aptitude and detail-oriented mindset for production-focused work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range:

$105,000 to $125,000
