Emerald Technologies has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Process Engineer (Entry-Level / Recent Graduate) to join its San Jose team! We are seeking a motivated recent college graduate with an engineering degree to support the development and improvement of the manufacturing process of documentation and work instructions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on problem-solving, technical writing, process improvement, and collaborating with production teams to ensure safe, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities of the JOB TITLE:

  • Observe manufacturing operations and document step-by-step assembly or production processes
  • Develop, update, and maintain manufacturing process instructions (MPIs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) using photos, diagrams, and process flow charts
  • Collaborate with production operators, technicians, quality, and engineering teams to improve process clarity and efficiency
  • Assist with process validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement projects
  • Ensure manufacturing documentation complies with quality and safety standards
  • Assist in time studies, line balancing, and workflow analysis
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities as needed

Qualification:

  • Engineering Education — associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Early‑Career Experience — Recent graduate or 0–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, including internships, co‑ops, or project work.
  • Technical Communication — Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical processes into clear, user‑friendly instructions.
  • Software & Tools Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing drawings.
