Position Overview

Entry-level position responsible for performing basic assembly or test operations on hydraulic components and sub-assemblies under close supervision, while learning company standards for production, quality, and safety. Proficient in one discipline (assembly or test) and actively cross-training on the other side as part of a structured development path toward becoming fully cross-trained.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform basic assembly or test tasks under close supervision while building proficiency
  • Assemble, fit, align, and adjust hydraulic components and final assemblies to meet engineering performance specifications
  • Set up and operate test stand equipment independently for pressure and functional testing
  • Work from complex assembly drawings, specifications, and work instructions
  • Use precision measuring and gauging instruments to verify tolerances and product quality
  • Diagnose defects and malfunctions and take corrective action or escalate appropriately
  • Accurately document inspection results, test data, and production records in required systems
  • Support inventory accuracy through proper material handling and documentation
  • Identify and recommend improvements to assembly and test methods, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions
  • Actively participate in cross-training to develop skills in both assembly and test
  • Follow all safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, specifications, and procedures
  • Ability to work any assigned shift
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical or vocational training in manufacturing or mechanical disciplines
  • Experience in high-pressure hydraulic assembly and valve testing
  • Prior experience in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods
