Entry Level to Junior Mechanical Design Engineer | 6 Month Contract | Day Shift | Port Huron, MI

Are you an early career Mechanical Engineer looking to build your experience in automation and robotic fixture design? Whether you are a recent graduate or have up to 3 years of engineering experience, this is an excellent opportunity to work on innovative robotic automation projects while expanding your design and manufacturing skills.

Our client is seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of fixtures used in robotic automation systems. You will work alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative environment, gaining valuable hands on experience with automation equipment, fixture design, and manufacturing processes.

This is a 6 month contract opportunity on day shift and is ideal for someone looking to grow their engineering career while working on meaningful projects.

Responsibilities
  • Design and modify fixtures using SolidWorks 2D and 3D CAD
  • Support robotic automation and manufacturing projects
  • Assist with fixture development, testing, and implementation
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop automation solutions
  • Apply mechanical design principles, pneumatic concepts, and basic electrical controls knowledge
  • Support prototype builds and engineering documentation
  • Complete reports, protocols, and project documentation as needed
Qualifications
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering ( or in process) , Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • 0 to 3 years of mechanical design or manufacturing engineering experience
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
  • Interest in automation, robotics, and fixture design
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatics and electrical controls is a plus
  • Internship, co op, manufacturing, machine build, or automation experience is preferred
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
