Activity Assistant - Part-time 15 hours/week, 10:00am to 3:00pm, Monday/Wednesday and Thursday
Entry-level candidates with a sincere interest in working with elders and adults with disabilities are welcomed.
No experience necessary, paid training will be provided for the right candidate. The most important qualifications are to be reliable and consistent, work well with our team, treat participants with kindness, be able to learn the duties of the position and to not be afraid to get a little silly when needed!
The Gathering Place is an Adult Day program serving elders and adults with a wide range of physical and cognitive abilities. Our participants enjoy music, arts, games, exercise and companionship - just to name a few!
As an Activity Assistant, you will be responsible for leading and assisting with planned activities, meals, assisting with keeping service areas clean and helping co-workers. Our activities and programs cater to the unique needs and interests of our participants. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Interacting with participants to foster socialization, well-being, and a sense of community.
  • Setup and cleanup of activity areas.
  • Encouraging participation in various activities, including games, crafts, and exercise routines.
  • Assisting with meal service, laundry and keeping service areas clean.
  • Monitoring the comfort, safety, and overall health of our participants.

Schedule: 15hours per week, 3 days, (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday) 10am to 3pm. No weekends or evenings; we are closed major holidays.
Rate of pay: $16-$17/hour depending on experience
References required and verification of past employment history.
