Student Library Assistant I Off-Campus FWS

Position Details

Department Bio - The Archives of American Art is the world's preeminent and most widely used research center dedicated to collecting, preserving, and providing access to primary sources that document the history of the visual arts in America.

Position Specific Summary - The student will support administrative and logistical tasks at the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution. Tasks may include: retrieving and reshelving materials, fulfilling patron requests for scans of materials, assisting staff with researching patron reference queries, reboxing/rehousing archival collections, and supporting shipment and review of oral history transcripts. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.

Standard Position Description - The student will support the administrative and logistical tasks in a GW library. Tasks may include: retrieving and reshelving materials, staff the reference desk and assist on-site patrons, fulfilling patron requests for scans and photocopies of materials, stacks management, assisting staff with researching patron reference queries, and record keeping tasks to support collection management practices. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.
