Job description

Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 26 branches throughout the United States. Our primary business is non-structural architectural grade building products sold principally to customers who create and produce end-products for the commercial, industrial, retail, residential and institutional markets. (In New Century, KS, Lebanon, TN, and Rockford, IL ๏ฟฝ we do business as: Olathe Millwork, Warren Brothers, River City Millwork respectfully.)
Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated team member to join our Will Call department. In this role, you will pull and load customer orders for walk-in pickups while providing excellent customer service. During downtime, you will cross-train with our Inside Sales team, making this a great opportunity for someone interested in growing into a sales career.

What You Will Do:
Warehouse
  • Help load building materials
  • Pull orders for pickup by customers
  • Assist customers by helping load and secure material in the customer's vehicle
  • Ensure that material loaded for delivery matches shipping documents and that the products are in good condition
  • Periodically examine stored material and report any deterioration or damage
  • Learn millwork and related products
  • Maintain will call area and showroom in a clean, orderly and safe manner
  • Assist in taking inventory as required on a regular basis
  • Work safely, attend safety meetings and follow all safety procedures and policies
  • Ability to drive a forklift and pass a valid OSHA approved forklift certification
  • Ability to lift extremely heavy awkward products repeatedly to load customer vehicles.
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of frequency and intensity in other physical activities such as reaching, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling and crouching.
  • Must have good visual acuity, color vision, and basic math skills
  • The employee will be required to work both inside and outside in extremes of cold, heat and humidity, depending on the season and location
  • Will be exposed to modest amounts of dust, fumes, noise and vibrations

Entry-Level Sales
  • Establish and maintain excellent rapport with walk in customers
  • Work and communicate with our Pro Sales department
  • Demonstrate knowledge of millwork and related products
  • Move from sitting to standing and walking a variety of distances frequently throughout the day
  • Actively engage in Rugby Nation

Preferred Experience
  • 1-2 years demonstrated experience in customer service & warehouse
  • Lumber yard or millwork experience a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Agility program or similar CRM experience
