Field Technician 1 - Construction Materials Testing

St. Louis, Missouri | Full-Time | On-Site / Field-Based


Turner Staffing Group is partnering with our client, a leading provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection services for civil and commercial construction, to find an Entry Level Field Technician I in St. Louis, Missouri. This is a great launching point for a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry, with hands-on exposure to construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, and more.


What You'll Do

Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (soil, concrete, and other materials), providing assessment of data through reporting.

Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams to guide fieldwork.

Use established methods to make detailed observations of site activities and provide limited interpretation of results.

Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.


What You Bring

1 year of construction-related field experience.

Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.

Willingness to work off-shift and overtime as needed.

Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30-50 lbs frequently, and 50+ lbs occasionally with assistance.

Ability to hear and process detailed information through oral communication, including sound discrimination.

Ability to kneel and squat occasionally, and to walk/stand for extended periods.

Comfortable working outdoors in adverse weather, including hot and cold temperatures.

Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights.


Nice to Have

High school diploma or equivalent.

ACI Certification.
