Shive-Hattery has an immediate opening at our Quad Cities office in Bettendorf, Iowa for an architectural Design Professional with approximately 3 years of professional experience.ย 


This new team member will work under the direction of the Studio Leader this position performs a variety of duties associated with design expertise on a variety of project types, assisting in achieving desired client satisfaction, and business results. Participation in applicable AIA, NCARB, and/or community activities is preferred.

Required Experience:

  • Entry level position and applies to individuals with approximately 3 years of experience
  • Completion of accredited professional degree program with a Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture, or equivalent in appropriate education and experience
  • Knowledge of design of architectural systems, construction documentation and associated technology
  • A demonstrated aptitude for critical, creative thinking associated with complex problem solving and design.
  • A demonstrable understanding of architectural detailing, putting together construction documentation, life safety code, and accessibility requirements. ย ย ย ย ย 
  • Proven communication skills.ย 
  • Previous experience working as a member of an architectural or multi-discipline team, taking a project from design through construction. Some experience leading a small team is preferred.ย 
  • We are looking for a self-motivated, creative professional interesting in and capable of working independently to solve complex problems while working effectively with team members both local and remote.ย 
  • Candidate ย ย ย ย ย should have a strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Sketch, and Enscape are beneficial but not required.ย 
  • Excellent communication skills.ย

Responsibilities

  • Participate and contribute to design discussions, idea generation, collaboration, and design work in drawing, model and 3D image formats
  • Production and coordination of design process and technical documents under the direction of a licensed design professional.
  • Creation of graphical images
  • Design and detailing in Revit
  • Attend project and client meetings with design professionals
  • Interact with and be a representative of the company with clients and contractors as it relates to on-going projects
