Opportunity Overview
The Factory Applications group is seeking a motivated, self-driven engineer to support our Silicon Photonics product team. You will collaborate across the company to develop practical application solutions, building on a foundation in silicon photonics, electronics, and software while growing ATE industry expertise.
This entry-level role requires a strong core engineering foundation and a growth mindset to take on diverse, hands-on technical work.
  • Develop knowledge and expertise on semiconductor device testing.
  • Develop knowledge and expertise on Automated Test Equipment (ATE) - specifically the UltraFLEXplus family of Teradyne testers - with a focus on our Silicon Photonics and Software product areas, with additional knowledge in Digital, Serial, and DC a plus.
  • Develop, debug, and deploy test solutions for semiconductor devices - often done in collaborative environment.
  • Support customers on tester operation and capability.

Growth Area:
  • Develop strong customer relationships at a technical level, to gain a deeper insight into the current usage and future direction of our products.
  • Investigate problems and recommend solutions on Teradyne ATE platforms to optimize customer throughput and test quality.
  • Work directly with customer test engineers to understand and improve their test processes.
  • Work closely with the Teradyne engineering community on new product development - from requirements definition to product release to market and continued thru customer support.
  • Generate and deliver product training, as well as technical papers to both industry and Teradyne user groups.
  • Develop the skills required to read PCB schematics and layouts.

  • BS (or higher) in EE (Electrical Engineering or Computer Sciences)
  • Experience 0 to 2 years in a related technical field.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals (Silicon Photonics, digital communications and signal processing, power delivery, signal processing, RF device technology and testing a plus).
  • Proficient with general software programming (preferred .NET - C#, VB and Python) and common algorithms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both within a team and individually - planning, execution, tracking, and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills - a commitment to teamwork and "can-do" spirit.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and deliver clear and effective presentations on complex topics.
  • Can work under high pressure with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Basic knowledge about semiconductor device design, manufacturing, and/or testing is a plus.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this role is $97,800 to 156,400. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
