Job description

De Mott, Curtright & Armendáriz, LLP (DMCA) is seeking an Entry-Level Associate Attorney who is eager to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in immigration law.

Whether you're a recent law school graduate or newly licensed attorney, this is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced immigration attorneys while developing the skills needed to successfully manage complex immigration matters. We are looking for someone who is curious, motivated, coachable, and passionate about helping people.

At DMCA, we understand that every great attorney starts somewhere. That's why we provide mentorship, training, and real-world experience from day one. If you're looking for a place where your work matters, your voice is valued, and your career can thrive, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do
  • Manage a diverse caseload of immigration matters from consultation through resolution.
  • Develop legal strategies tailored to each client's unique circumstances.
  • Handle removal defense, federal immigration litigation and family-based immigration matters.
  • Draft motions, briefs, responses to RFEs and NOIDs, and other legal filings.
  • Prepare clients for USCIS interviews, immigration court hearings, and other proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and stay current on developments in immigration law.
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys, legal assistants, and client relations professionals.
  • Maintain organized case files and detailed case notes using firm case management systems.
  • Provide clients with clear communication, guidance, and advocacy throughout their case.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar license in any U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish preferred.
  • Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent organizational and case management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Immigration law experience strongly preferred, particularly in family-based immigration and removal defense.
