Position Summary:  

  • The Informatics & Analytics Analyst provides hands-on reporting, analytics, data validation, documentation, and operational support across Prism Health North Texas' healthcare data and reporting environment.
  • This role supports the Informatics function by assisting with:
    • Clinical, financial, operational, pharmacy, quality, grants, and executive reporting
    • Power BI dashboard support and enhancement
    • Snowflake-based querying, validation, and analysis
    • Report inventory, documentation, and data lineage
    • Data quality review and source-to-report reconciliation
    • KPI definition and Data Governance Committee support
    • Recurring reporting and stakeholder request support
  • The Informatics & Analytics Analyst helps ensure data and reports are accurate, timely, documented, and useful for decision-making. This position works closely with the Lead Healthcare Informaticist / Analytics Developer, IT, HIM, Clinical Operations, Quality, Grants, Finance, Pharmacy, Revenue Cycle, and executive stakeholders.
  • This is not intended to be an entry-level reporting role. The position requires enough healthcare data, Snowflake, SQL, Power BI, Excel, and validation experience to contribute quickly while continuing to grow into more advanced healthcare analytics and informatics responsibilities.
ResponsibilitiesREPORTING, ANALYTICS, AND DASHBOARD SUPPORT
  • Support the development, maintenance, testing, and enhancement of Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Assist with recurring reports supporting clinical operations, quality, grants, pharmacy, finance, executive leadership, and operational departments.
  • Modify existing reports and dashboards based on approved requirements and documented business needs.
  • Support dashboard refreshes, data updates, filter adjustments, visual changes, and routine report maintenance.
  • Assist with reports and dashboards related to:
    • Provider productivity
    • Patient access
    • Clinical quality measures
    • HRSA / UDS / grants reporting
    • Pharmacy and 340B reporting
    • Revenue cycle and payer mix
    • Executive scorecards
    • Population health and health equity
  • Help identify duplicate, outdated, unused, conflicting, or unreliable reports.


SNOWFLAKE, SQL, AND SOURCE DATA SUPPORT
  • Use Snowflake to query, extract, compare, and validate healthcare data.
  • Write and modify SQL queries to support reporting, dashboard development, data validation, and discrepancy analysis.
  • Support AthenaOne / DataView / Snowflake-based reporting and analytics.
  • Help document source tables, fields, joins, filters, relationships, and reporting logic.
  • Compare source-system outputs to Power BI dashboards, AthenaOne reports, exported files, SharePoint based reports, and stakeholder-maintained spreadsheets.
  • Support investigation of discrepancies between AthenaOne reports, Snowflake/DataView queries, Power BI dashboards and manually maintained reporting sources.
  • Escalate complex query, data model, data architecture, or source-system issues to the Lead Healthcare Informaticist / Analytics Developer.


DATA VALIDATION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE
  • Validate report outputs against source systems, stakeholder expectations, prior reports, and documented business rules.
  • Review data for accuracy, completeness, duplicate records, date-range errors, attribution issues, calculation issues, and missing values.
  • Execute QA checklists for new, modified, and recurring reports.
  • Assist in validating:
    • Numerators and denominators

  • Support basic to intermediate DAX measures under the direction of the Lead Healthcare Informaticist / Analytics Developer.
  • Help maintain report filters, slicers, relationships, refresh settings, and visual layouts.
  • Test Power BI dashboards after data source, model, refresh, or calculation changes.
  • Assist with the transition from spreadsheet-heavy reporting to more reliable Power BI and Snowflake supported reporting models.
REPORT INVENTORY, DOCUMENTATION, AND LINEAGE
  • Maintain the enterprise report and dashboard inventory.
  • Document report owners, business purpose, data sources, Snowflake objects, refresh frequency, distribution method, audience, and certification status.
  • Create and maintain runbooks for recurring reports and high-priority dashboards.
  • Document manual reporting processes involving AthenaOne exports, inbox delivery, SharePoint folders, network drives, or spreadsheet manipulation.
  • Assist with documenting data lineage from source system to Snowflake, Power BI, and final report output.
  • Help reduce reliance on tribal knowledge by creating repeatable, accurate, and accessible documentation


DATA GOVERNANCE AND KPI STANDARDIZATION SUPPORT
  • Support the Data Governance Committee through report tracking, documentation, metric definition support, and certification preparation.
  • Assist in maintaining the enterprise KPI dictionary.
  • Document business definitions for commonly used metrics, including:
    • Encounters
    • Visits
    • Unique patients
    • No-show rate
    • Provider productivity
    • Clinical FTE
    • Payer mix
    • Quality measures
    • UDS-related metrics

  • Track certification status for reports and dashboards.

  • Meet with stakeholders to clarify reporting requests, business needs, definitions, deadlines, and intended use.
  • Translate stakeholder requests into clear requirements, report changes, validation steps, documentation updates, or escalation items.
  • Support the Informatics intake and backlog process.
  • Communicate clearly with internal customers regarding report status, needed clarification, blockers, and expected timelines.
  • Provide service-oriented support while reinforcing standardized intake, prioritization, documentation, and governance processes.
  • Serve as a reliable liaison between stakeholders and the Lead Healthcare Informaticist / Analytics Developer for assigned work.


CLINICAL, QUALITY, GRANTS AND REGULATORY REPORTING SUPPORT
  • Assist with reporting related to clinical operations, quality measures, UDS, HRSA, grants, CQM, population health, and health equity.
  • Support validation of reports used for external, regulatory, grant-related, or executive-facing purposes.
  • Help ensure sensitive or high-impact reports are reviewed and validated before distribution.
  • Work with Clinical Operations, Quality, Grants, HIM, and operational stakeholders to understand report logic and business context.
  • Support investigation and correction of reporting discrepancies that could affect external reporting, compliance, funding, or executive decision-making.

  • Support pharmacy and 340B analytics reporting, including prescription volume, contract pharmacy activity, eligible encounter reporting, referral capture, and exception reporting.
  • Assist with finance-related reporting, including payer mix, revenue cycle metrics, provider productivity, visit volume, and service line analytics.
  • Partner with the Lead Healthcare Informaticist / Analytics Developer and business stakeholders to validate finance and pharmacy reporting logic.
  • Support reconciliation activities when reports do not align across systems, departments, or reporting tools.
  • Assist in documenting assumptions, calculations, and source logic for finance, pharmacy, and operational reports.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT AND REPORTING MATURITY

  • Support the transition from reactive reporting support to a more governed enterprise analytics function.
  • Help improve consistency in report formats, naming conventions, documentation, QA, and distribution.
