Job description

Requirements and Description
This is an entry-level technician role. Previous experience is preferred but not required-we're looking for motivated individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety.
As a Technician with ERMC Aviation, you'll be the first responder to system alarms and play a key role in maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the smooth operation of baggage handling systems (BHS) and other facility equipment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform routine electrical, mechanical, and systems maintenance according to client standards.
• Troubleshoot and repair machinery and electro-mechanical systems, including conveyor and laser recognition systems.
• Respond quickly to alarms such as bag jams, motor overloads, and tracking faults.
• Clean and organize the shop, control room, and BHS assets.
• Realign baggage on the BHS to keep operations flowing.
• Monitor system performance using HMI screens and address issues proactively.
• Support additional repairs under the direction of the Team Leader or BHS Manager to grow mechanical and electrical skills.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety by following all OSHA standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and work in physically demanding environments.
• Comfortable climbing ladders, catwalks, and accessing tight spaces within the BHS.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, building plans, and understand basic electrical systems (preferred).
• Dedication to excellent customer service and proactive problem-solving.
• Basic computer proficiency.
Standard Requirements
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Must have a valid government ID and social security card.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge (requires background check).
• Must have or be able to arrange reliable transportation.
• Able to work in extreme temperatures (hot/cold) and confined spaces.
• Flexible to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment criminal background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screening.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
