These roles typically include job titles such as aerospace engineer, technician, analyst, or project assistant. Responsibilities may involve supporting the design, testing, and production of aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, or defense systems. Employers generally look for candidates with a degree in aerospace engineering or a related field, strong problem-solving skills, and an interest in aviation and space technology. Entry level positions provide valuable training and career development opportunities within the aerospace sector.

What types of projects and tasks can I expect to work on as an entry level aerospace engineer?

As an entry-level aerospace engineer, you will typically support senior engineers with tasks such as conducting design analyses, preparing technical reports, helping with component testing, and using CAD software for drafting and modeling. You’ll likely collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers, to contribute to larger projects like aircraft or spacecraft development. Early in your career, you may be assigned to specific subsystems or components, offering a valuable chance to build foundational knowledge and gain hands-on experience while learning industry best practices.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry level aerospace engineer, and why are they important?
