Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Systems Engineer to support the certification, qualification, verification, and compliance of airborne electronic products within a highly regulated aerospace environment.

This role partners with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure aerospace products meet applicable regulatory, performance, environmental, safety, and airworthiness requirements prior to customer delivery.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting product-level certification activities for airborne electronic systems developed by an aerospace manufacturer or supplier serving commercial and military aviation programs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or support certification, qualification, verification, and compliance activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Develop qualification plans, verification procedures, certification documentation, compliance reports, and supporting technical artifacts.
  • Coordinate environmental, functional, and qualification testing in accordance with applicable aerospace standards.
  • Support hardware, software, systems, manufacturing, quality, and test engineering teams to ensure certification requirements are incorporated throughout product development.
  • Prepare and maintain certification documentation including compliance matrices, verification reports, qualification reports, and supporting engineering records.
  • Support requirements traceability, design reviews, engineering assessments, and technical risk evaluations.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing, engineering schedules, and certification deliverables.
  • Interface with customers, certification representatives, regulatory authorities, and internal engineering organizations as required.
  • Support product certification activities through engineering release and customer acceptance.
  • Assist with root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continued product support.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting aerospace certification, product qualification, compliance, verification, or validation activities.
  • Experience working within an aerospace manufacturing, avionics, or airborne electronics environment.
  • Experience preparing engineering documentation supporting product qualification and certification.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional engineering efforts through qualification and certification activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
