Job description

Job Title: Systems Engineer
Location: Richardson, TX
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7.30AM-4.30PM
Pay Range: $70-78/HR
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and verification of advanced communications and defense systems. In this role, you will work across the full systems engineering lifecycle, translating customer and program requirements into system-level solutions while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-performance products.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements development and management, systems architecture, and system verification within complex engineering environments. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge communications and defense technologies while working alongside talented engineering and program teams.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture, analyze, decompose, allocate, and trace system and subsystem requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Design, develop, model, and document system architectures and subsystem solutions using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
  • Develop system verification plans, test procedures, and validation activities to ensure compliance with technical and customer requirements.
  • Support system integration activities and troubleshoot technical issues throughout development and testing.
  • Plan and execute project-level engineering activities while supporting schedule, cost, and performance objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate technical risks throughout the system development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, Finance, and Business Development.
  • Participate in design reviews, peer reviews, configuration management, and engineering change processes.
  • Support technical proposals, bids, customer presentations, and business development initiatives.
  • Represent the Systems Engineering organization during internal meetings, customer reviews, and external stakeholder engagements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience developing, decomposing, allocating, and managing system and subsystem requirements.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts, methodologies, and tools.
  • Experience developing system architectures and subsystem design definitions.
  • Proficiency with SysML modeling using tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, or IBM Rational Rhapsody.
  • Experience using IBM DOORS (or similar requirements management tools).
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles within engineering programs.
  • Experience participating in configuration management, change management, and formal peer review processes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams and interact with customers and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting defense, aerospace, or military communications programs.
  • Knowledge of radio frequency (RF) communications systems, including VLF, LF, HF, V/UHF, and MILSATCOM technologies.
  • Experience supporting system integration, verification, and validation activities for complex hardware and software systems.
  • Familiarity with the complete systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements development through system verification and production support.
  • Experience supporting technical proposals, competitive pursuits, and customer-facing engineering activities.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one is preferred.
