Job Description
A Structural entry level Engineer position is currently available onsite at Belcan in Windsor, CT. This is a full time, direct position with full benefits. Matching candidates will need a Bachelor"s or Masters Degree of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. In this role, you will be part of team that works together at our Belcan office to provide support for our engineering projects. You will conduct structural analyses of a wide variety of component designs utilizing advanced analytical and CAD tools for turbo machinery components. Job Duties: * Create, modify, and validate finite element models using industry standard FEA tools (e.g., NASTRAN, ANSYS, Abaqus) and post-process results * Perform linear, nonlinear, buckling, and modal analyses as required * Evaluate joint, fastener, bolted, bonded, and lug strength * Conduct fatigue and damage tolerance analyses, including crack growth evaluations * Support safe life, fail safe, and damage tolerant design philosophies * Collaborate with design, loads, materials, and manufacturing engineering teams * Provide stress analysis guidance during design development and technical reviews * Support structural testing through pre test predictions and post test correlation * Investigate test anomalies and support root cause and corrective action efforts * Perform trade studies to assess weight, strength, cost, and manufacturability impacts * Ensure compliance with applicable certification, regulatory, and customer requirements * Prepare and review stress reports, analysis summaries, and certification documentation * Clearly document assumptions, methods, results, and conclusions * Support program reviews, audits, and customer technical meetings * Provide technical recommendations for optimizing hardware designs and modeling approach * Support data acquisition/ reduction of hardware vibration environment measurements * Support hardware certification testing * Review and analyze parts with non-conformance / damage reported by the customer * Interface with customers, hardware suppliers, and participate in design reviews / trade studies Requirements: * BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or related field * Zero to two years' experience * Strong communication and presentation skills * High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint * Due to the nature of our work *SHIP IS REQUIRED*Desired skills: Preferred: * Previous experience with Ansys software We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $62,000 to 70,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.'
