Job description

Aircraft Electric Motors (AEM) is a FAA Part 145 certified repair station and aerospace component manufacturer based in Miami Lakes, FL. We've been building and repairing electrical components that fly on commercial, military, and corporate aircraft since 1972. This work is hands-on, precision-driven, and FAA-regulated — the kind of skilled trade that can't be automated, outsourced, or replaced by a screen. If you're looking for stable work that actually requires your hands, your judgment, and your attention to detail, this is it.

What you'll do

  • Assemble aerospace electrical and mechanical components to engineering drawings and work order specifications
  • Install, fit, and secure subassemblies including housings, bearings, brushes, commutators, and electrical terminations
  • Perform basic electrical checks and functional tests before releasing units to inspection
  • Read and follow technical drawings, schematics, and written work instructions
  • Document work performed accurately on traveler packages and repair orders
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow all FOD control procedures
  • Work closely with rewind, machining, and inspection teams to move units through production

What we're looking for

  • Hands-on assembly experience — aerospace, defense, electronics, or precision manufacturing preferred
  • Comfortable reading engineering drawings and following written technical procedures
  • Familiar with basic hand tools, torque wrenches, and mechanical fastening
  • Detail-oriented — in regulated aerospace work, accuracy isn't optional
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a production environment
  • Experience with electrical components, motors, or generators is a plus — but we'll train the right person

What you get

  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • A trade that builds real, transferable value — certified aerospace assembly experience opens doors that a warehouse or factory floor job doesn't
  • Long-tenured team in a specialty niche that's been in demand for over 50 years and isn't going anywhere
  • Opportunity to grow into more technical roles as your skills develop

This is a full-time, on-site position at our Miami Lakes facility. We are an equal opportunity employer.

Pre-employment FAA Drug Test required.
