Job description

General Description:

This entry-level actuarial analyst position will support all current and future states in all product lines of insurance by performing rate reviews, preparation of rate filings, performing actuarial studies as assigned, and assisting in supporting inquiries from regulatory departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in various Pricing projects, including but not limited to quarterly rate adequacy reviews, internal rate indications, and analysis of internal and external data.

Assist in preparation of rate filings for current and future states and lines of business.
Assist in preparation of rules and rate manuals.

Assist in competitor analysis for rating plans, rates, products and forms.

Assist in various Reserving analyses and projects, including but not limited to quarterly reserve reviews and monthly IBNR rollforwards.

Provide data in support of actuarial, product, underwriting, and reserving initiatives.

Ensure that data is correct, consistent, and robust. Perform proper data validation and reconciliation exercises.

Assist in data manipulation, analysis, and automation, including but not limited to data cleansing and automated reporting.

Practice appropriate spreadsheet and data stewardship: Organize and document data, data sources, and calculations in such a way that it can be easily reviewed by a peer or external party.


Interact as needed with relevant regulatory authorities on filings.

Perform various actuarial analysis and projects as assigned.

Assist as needed with relevant regulatory authorities on filings

Provide data in support of actuarial, product and underwriting initiative

Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

0-2 Years of relevant experience.

Undergraduate or graduate degree / Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Quantitative and analytical skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Effective presentation skills.

Work extremely well independently.

Licenses and / or Certifications:

Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams with on-going exam commitment is desired but not required
