Job description

Electi Management is a rapidly growing management services organization serving small businesses by managing finance and accounting functions through the innovative use of technology and workflow optimization.

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to perform daily accounting and administrative tasks for clients. Responsibilities include, among others, managing expense reports and reimbursements, entering financial transactions into QuickBooks Online, reconciling invoices, electronic management of documentation, managing calendars, and other duties as needed. There is opportunity for growth for the right candidate.

Our ideal candidate is energetic, dependable, and smart. You should have a desire to learn new things and be willing to offer your insight and opinions about the company and/or client processes. A high propensity for attention to detail is a strong indicator of success in this role and future growth. If you have an Accounting degree or a strong aptitude for QBO and detail-centric, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will help our business meet client deadlines and expand our capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies
  • A/P and A/R data entry for client accounts
  • Create and update client calendars for A/P, compliance deadlines, and other important client events
  • Verify client payments and process electronic bank deposits
  • Enter financial transactions into QBO and client databases, as needed
  • Check spreadsheets for accuracy and maintain updates with scheduled deadlines
  • Maintain digital and physical financial records
  • Issue invoices to customers and external partners, as needed
  • Participate in quarterly and annual audits
  • Additional projects as needed that support the organization's mission to deliver an elite customer experience

Skills

  • Work experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures and experience with QBO
  • Familiarity with finance regulations
  • Excellent math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
  • Critical thinking skills; the ability to identify when "things don't make sense"
  • Strong MS Office skills, especially with MS Excel
  • Strong organization skills; ability to manage multiple accounts and track deadlines consistently
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information (background check will be required)
  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field is strongly encouraged
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and orally
  • Must present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
  • Must attain Level 1 and Level 2 QBO certification after hire within the first 30 days and 60 days respectively.
