We are seeking an entry level Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical Team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the design of HVAC systems while working on a wide range of building types and project scales. You will play an important role in supporting the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems while growing your technical expertise within a high-performing, collaborative team environment. This role provides strong opportunities for professional development and advancement within our Mechanical Team.
As a member of the GRAEF Mechanical Team, your responsibilities may include:
  • Support the design and development of complete HVAC systems from project conceptual phase through construction documents for a wide variety of project types.
  • Develop mechanical drawings, models, and construction documents using Revit, Bluebeam, and other design tools.
  • Perform HVAC load calculations and assist with equipment selection to support efficient, code-compliant system designs.
  • Coordinate with multi-discipline project teams, including electrical, plumbing, structural, and architectural team members, to support coordinated project execution.
  • Assist with construction phase activities, including submittal review, RFI support, meeting participation, and site visits (travel may be required.)
  • Support the preparation of technical documentation, specifications, and reports.

We are considering candidates who possess the following minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Previous experience in HVAC system design or related building systems design a plus.
  • Experience in Revit, Bluebeam, and HVAC load calculation software preferred.
  • Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is preferred, with interest in pursuing a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the future.
  • Strong team-focused skills, including communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and produce high-quality work.
